Summary of the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border regarding continued attacks by the Thai military to invade Cambodia’s sovereignty in the 4th and 5th Military Regions.
1. The frontline situation at the 4th Military Region in the provinces of Oddar Meanchey Preah Vihear and Siem Reap provinces: The Thai military continues its attacks to invade Cambodia's sovereign territory: From 5:00pm to on December 23, 2025 to 5:15pm December 24, 2025:
On December 23, 2025
- From 5:00pm until 12:00am, the Thai military continued firing artillery shells and deployed drones to spray a large amount of toxic gas into the areas of Preah Vihear temple, Koul 8 and Phnom Trangol.
- From 5:00pm until 7:00pm, the Thai military fired artillery shells accompanied by tanks into the areas of Preah Vihear temple, Tamone temple and Chob Korki.
- From 6:00pm until 9:15pm, the Thai military continued firing various types of artillery shells into the areas of Koul 8, Phnom Trangol, Ta Sim, Preah Vihear temple, and Ta Thav.
On December 24, 2025
- At 12:00am, the Thai military continued firing artillery shells from a distance into the area of Preah Vihear temple.
- At 5:05am, the Thai military fired 12.7 mm tank and armored vehicle-mounted guns into privately owned civilian commercial buildings in the area of O’Smach.
- At 7:00am, the Thai military continued firing artillery into the area of Preah Vihear temple.
- At 7:15am until 8:00am, the Thai military intensified its attacks using artillery and Kamikaze drones in the areas of Preah Vihear temple and Chan Krohom.
- From 9:00am to 10:00am, the Thai military continued to fire artillery, mortars, deployed toxic gas along with Kamikaze drones, into the area of Preah Vihear temple, Ta Thav, Phnom Khmoch, Koul 8, Phnom Trangol. They also continued firing artillery and mortars into the area of Tamone temple.
- At 11:00am, the Thai military deployed a fighter jet to drop 4 bombs into the area of Srei Snam district, Siemreap province and fired 155mm artillery as well as DTI-1G rockets into the area of Preah Vihear temple, Ta thav, Phnom Khmoch, Koul 8, Phnom Trangol. They also continued firing artillery and mortars into the area of Tamone temple.
- At 12:00pm, the Thai military began deploying tanks and infantry forces into the areas of Veal Intry and Preah Vihear temple.
-At 1:43pm, the Thai military used bomb-dropping drones, fired artillery shells from a distance and deployed vehicle-mounted mobile guns to attack the area of Preah Vihear temple.
-At 2:00pm, the Thai military continued shelling with 155 mm artillery and DK-106 gun and also used DTI-1G rocket launchers to carry out heavy bombardment into the area of Preah Vihear Temple.
-From 3:00pm to 5:15pm, the Thai military continued to attack by using artillery, mobile vehicles, tanks and infantry forces into Preah Vihear temple, Tamone temple, Veal Intry, Chamkar Chek, 5 Makara, and Sambok Kmum.
2. The frontline situation at the 5th Military Region in Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Pursat provinces: The Thai military continues its attacks to invade Cambodian sovereign territory: From 5:00pm on December 23 to 5:00pm on December 24, 2025
- From 5:00pm on December 23 to 6:00am on December 24, the Thai military continued to fire approximately 150 shells into the area of Boeung Trakoun.
- From 5:00pm on December 23 to 6:00am on December 24, the Thai military continued to fire approximately 120 shells into the area of Prey Chan village.
- From 5:00pm on December 23 to 6:00am on December 24, the Thai military continued to fire approximately 80 shells into the area of Chok Chey village.
- From 7:30pm to 9:30pm, the Thai military continued to fire 4 rounds of flare guns into densely populated civilian residential areas in Poipet Municipality, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 8:02pm, the Thai military continued to fire flare guns into a densely populated civilian residential area in Thmar Da commune.
-At 9:30pm, the Thai military continued to fire 7 shells into the area of Phnom Prek district.
On December 24, 2025
-At 7:00am, the Thai infantry forces supported by armored vehicles attempted to infiltrate into the area in front of Chok Chey village.
-From 7:00am to 4:00pm, the Thai military continued to fire artillery shells into the area of Prey Chan village.
-From 7:00am to 5:00pm, the Thai military continued to fire artillery shells into the area of Boeung Trokoun.
-At 7:12am, the Thai infantry forces supported by tanks attempted to infiltrate into the area in front of Chok Chey village.
- From 9:12am to 9:40am, the Thai military fired 3 artillery shells into the civilian residential area in Poitpet municipality, causing 2 civilians to be injured
- At 9:45am, the Thai military deployed reconnaissance drones and violated Cambodian sovereign territory in the area of Chok Chey village.
- From 10:00am to 2:02pm, the Thai military deployed T-50TH fighter jets to drop 4 bombs into a civilian residential area and hit further deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in the area of Banan district, Battambang Province.
- From 10:28am to 4:38pm, the Thai military fired 26 artillery shells into the area of Sampov Laun commune, Sampov Laun district, Battambang Province.
- From 12:15pm to 12:26pm, the Thai military deployed T-50TH fighter jets to drop cluster bombs into the area of Slor Kram Commune, Svay Chek District, Banteay Meanchey Province.
- At 5:00pm, the Thai military deployed reconnaissance drones and violated Cambodian sovereign territory in the area of Banan district.
The Cambodian armed forces have been defending against the aggressors and will continue to monitor the situation with utmost care and remain highly vigilant in fulfillment of their duties to defend Cambodian territorial integrity.
