Mr. Khuong Sreng, Governor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Government, led a joint task force to inspect more than 2,700 locations of online scams in 40 locations, arrested 284 people, and sent 24 ringleaders to court
(Phnom Penh): In strict compliance with Sub-Decree No. 03 ANK.BK dated January 05, 2026 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, a joint task force led by His Excellency Khuong Sreng, Governor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Government and Chairman of the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration Unified Command, led the Unified Command of the 14 districts to inspect the locations of condominiums, apartments, boreys, guesthouses, and hotels in order to clean up locations suspected of committing online scams in the capital city from February 03 to 18, 2026. The results were as follows:
A total of 2,709 administrative locations were inspected, a total of 21,104 foreigners were found, including 6,683 women. A total of 40 crime sites were investigated, and 284 foreigners were arrested. (31 females) and 13 relatives, including:

2-China + Taiwan, 128 (11 females)

5-Malaysia, 66 (7 females)

6-Nepal, 01 male

7-Bangladesh, 03 males

12-Singapore, 01 male, 29 males

Meanwhile, the Phnom Penh Police Department, led by His Excellency Lieutenant General Chuon Narin, Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of the Phnom Penh Police Department, led a team of experts to identify 24 foreign suspects, including Cambodians 1 person and 23 foreigners of two nationalities, including 22 Chinese and 1 Singaporean, were sent to court.
