What is an online scam?⚠️
Online fraud or Online Scam is a fraud on the Internet that uses deceptive tricks to steal money, personal information or other important resources from users.
Types of online scam:
1-Phishing: In this way, scammers send emails or messages by stealing the name of a well-known company or entity to make us believe in order to tempt us to provide confidential or important information such as credit card numbers or bank information, etc.
2-Fake Online Stores: Scammers create websites that look like real stores, but are a way to scam us by not providing us with the goods.
3-Investment Scams: Unscrupulous business groups advertise fake investment opportunities, such as investing in cryptocurrencies, stocks or real estate, promising high returns without risk. Once you have deposited your money, the scammers will disappear and never contact you.
4-Romance Scams: Scammers create romantic relationships on social media or dating apps until we trust them and then ask for money, often under the pretext of an emergency, etc.
5-Lottery Scams: Scammers tell us that we have won a prize or lottery and ask us to pay and provide personal information to claim the prize.
6-Job Offer Scams: Scammers pretend to offer us a job by asking us to pay for training or to buy a certificate or trading tool, etc.
7-Tech Support Scams: Scammers pretend to be technicians from the company whose equipment we have purchased from, telling us that the equipment in our home is broken, requiring them to check into the computer, or that the electricity service is going to be interrupted, requiring us to buy this or that equipment by paying online in advance. These are all ways to make money.
8-Charity Scams: In this, the name of a charity is used to convince us to donate money, especially after a major incident or crisis has occurred.
9-Impersonation Scams: In this method, the identity of a loved one or a powerful official is used to trick us into giving money or providing us with some information.
